Disability Arts Online (DAO)

DAO has been hard at work in recent months on a redesign of its website’s popular directories for artists and organisations. These are now live on their website – along with the addition of a brand-new directory for freelancers working in wider roles within disability arts and culture.

Disability Arts Online (DAO)

On the DAO Directory main page you can use the filter to access entries for the Organisations, Artists and Freelancers Directories separately. There are also other new filters, including art forms, locations and specialisms, to help with your search. You can sort entries alphabetically or by newest first.

The Artists Directory is for artists and creatives who identify as disabled, D/deaf, neurodivergent and/or are living with a long-term health condition.

The Freelancers Directory is for anyone who is:
– a freelance arts worker available for hire on disabled creatives’ projects

– a freelance access provider (e.g. support worker, interpreter, captioner, audio describer).

The Organisations Directory is for:
– arts, culture & heritage organisations, venues, etc. – disabled-led or inclusive.
– organisations with programmes for disabled, D/deaf or neurodivergent creatives.
– networks for disabled, D/deaf or neurodivergent creatives or audiences
– access providers (companies/organisations)

Submit your DAO directory profile entry now! Being featured on the directory is a great way to promote your work to DAO’s 280,000+ annual website visitors and be part of the DAO community.
